How Does the SDA Clear Word Bible Compare to God's Word?

The SDA Clear Word Bible rendition of this passage is just plan weird!

God "said to His Son"? Wasn't the Holy Spirit involved too? He was in verse 1.

And the part about "who look like us and can reflect our thinking and our personality"? What makes the author of this Bible think this passage is talking about physical looks? Jesus stated that God is Spirit (John 4:24), and that "a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." (Luke 24:39)

We can clearly see that Jesus says God is spirit. Jesus is referring here to the Father. Furthermore, in Luke Jesus says that spirit does not have flesh and bones. Therefore, we can conclude that since God is spirit and spirit does not have flesh and bones, then it is not possible to use Genesis 1:26 to say that God has a body of flesh and bones.

God is a Spirit - a being without a material body. In Jesus Christ, He was incarnated as a man. Nevertheless, the human nature of the Son was something that He took on; it was not part of His original nature.

The description offered in the SDA Clear Word Bible is consistent though with basic Adventist teaching which badly mutilates both the understanding of God and of heaven. Ellen White claimed, that God the Father has a physical body (Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, 1905, p. 62), and so the SDA Clear Word Bible must follow suit in order to be consistent.

Genesis 1:1-2 (King James Version)

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:26-28 (New International Version)

26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

Genesis 1:26-28 (SDA Clear Word Bible)

26 But this was the end of His work for that day. Next He said to His Son, "Now let us make beings who look like us and can reflect our thinking and our personality. Let's give them the responsibility of ruling over and caring for the fish, the birds and the animals which we created."

27 So they created two human beings, a male and a female, who would reflect the oneness in the Godhead.

28 Then God and His Son blessed them and said, "We have given you the capability to produce beings in your image. So be fruitful and fill the earth with people. We are putting you in charge of caring for the fish, the birds and every animal that walks the earth. They will obey you because I have set you over them."
